How to choose beam angle for track lighting?

Beam angle selection depends on the distance between the fixture and the illuminated object, the size of the display area, and the desired lighting effect:

• 15° (Narrow Spot): Accenting small objects from 3m+ height — jewelry, watches, sculptures
• 24° (Spot): General accent lighting for mannequins and feature displays from 2.5–4m
• 36° (Flood): Wall washing and broader display areas from 2–3m ceiling
• 60° (Wide Flood): General illumination and uniform lighting for lower ceilings
• Rule of thumb: Beam diameter ≈ 2 × distance × tan(beam angle ÷ 2)
