Fast answers to the questions we get asked most about architectural downlights.
Downlights are available in 2-inch, 3-inch, 4-inch, 6-inch, and 8-inch aperture sizes. The 4-inch is the most popular for general commercial use, while 2-inch and 3-inch are used for tighter spacing or decorative applications. 6-inch and 8-inch provide higher output for larger spaces.
Yes, trimless (plaster-in) downlights are available. These sit flush with the ceiling for a nearly invisible, seamless appearance. Trimless installation requires coordination with the ceiling contractor during the drywall phase. Trim and adjustable trim options are also available.
The highest CRI available is 95+ (premium option). Standard models come with CRI 90+. CRI 95+ is recommended for hospitality, high-end retail, and residential projects where true color rendering and skin tone accuracy are critical.
Yes, downlights can be used in bathrooms. IP44 rated models are available for bathrooms, spas, and damp locations. IP54 wet location options provide even higher protection. For shower areas and fully wet zones, IP65 rated exterior downlight options are available.
Yes, square downlights are available in most sizes alongside the standard round options. Square apertures work well with modern and minimalist interior design schemes. Both trim and trimless versions are offered in square form factors.
Yes, all downlights are DALI dimmable. Standard models ship with DALI-2 DT6 drivers. Additional dimming options include 0-10V and TRIAC. Smooth, flicker-free dimming down to 0.1% with consistent color temperature across the dimming range.
Our architectural downlights are designed to be invisible — you see the light, not the fixture. Deeply recessed COB LED sources paired with precision-engineered reflectors deliver a clean, comfortable beam with excellent cutoff angles and minimal glare.
From compact 2-inch downlights for tight ceiling grids to high-output 8-inch cylinders for soaring lobbies, every fixture shares the same commitment to optical excellence, thermal performance, and build quality. Trimless and trim options, round and square apertures, and a range of finishes ensure seamless integration with any interior.

Trim downlights have a visible decorative ring (trim) around the aperture that sits on the ceiling surface. Trimless (or plaster-in) downlights are designed to be flush with the ceiling, with the ceiling finish brought right up to the aperture for a nearly invisible, seamless appearance. Trimless installation requires coordination with the ceiling contractor.
Yes — we offer IP44 rated downlights specifically designed for bathrooms, spas, pool areas, and other damp locations. These have sealed front glasses and gaskets to prevent moisture ingress. For fully outdoor applications, we have IP65 rated exterior downlight options.
UGR (Unified Glare Rating) is a standardized measure of glare from a lighting installation. Lower UGR means less glare and greater visual comfort. UGR < 19 is the standard requirement for office environments, and our deep-recessed downlights achieve UGR < 16 — well below the threshold for comfortable, productive spaces.
