Surface & Ceiling
For ceilings with no void.
Exposed slabs, concrete soffits and refurbished ceilings cannot take a recessed cut-out. This line mounts on the plane instead — cylinders, drums, bulkheads and suspended bodies engineered to sit on the architecture rather than hide inside it.
Six surface families, one clean junction.
A surface luminaire is judged on two things a recessed fixture can hide: the junction with the ceiling, and the heat path out of a body that has no ceiling void to dissipate into. Both are addressed in the housing.
Surface Cylinder
The default answer for slab ceilings. A die-cast cylinder with an oversized heatsink base, available fixed or with 0–30° tilt for corridors and gallery walls.
- 6–30W, 500–3200lm
- UGR<19, CRI 90+
- Fixed or 0–30° tilt
- IP20, IP54 option
Square Surface Box
Square body for grid ceilings, structural soffits and retail. Two footprint sizes so the module can align to the structural grid rather than fight it.
- 6–24W, two footprints
- 24°/36°/60°/90° optics
- UGR<19 on 60°
- Grid and slab compatible
Ceiling Drum
Flush-mount drum with an opal diffuser for bedrooms, lobbies and residential corridors. Diffuse output rather than a cone, so the ceiling reads soft instead of punctuated.
- 18–48W, 2200–4800lm
- Opal diffuser, dot-free
- 300 / 400 / 500mm diameters
- DALI and phase dimming
Bulkhead IP65
Sealed ceiling or wall bulkhead for car parks, service corridors, back-of-house and plant rooms. IK10 polycarbonate diffuser, gasketed body, and a louvre option for glare control.
- IP65, IK10
- 12–30W, 1600–3600lm
- Ceiling, wall or pendant
- Emergency version available
Suspended Cylinder
Pendant cylinder for double-height foyers, atria and stair voids. Adjustable 0.5–2m drop, with the driver either integral or remote for low-ceiling coordination.
- 12–40W, 0.5–2m drop
- Integral or remote driver
- Single or clustered arrays
- UGR<19 with louvre
High-Ceiling Cylinder
High-output surface body for warehouses, showrooms and industrial halls with 6–12m mounting heights. Narrow optics hold the beam on the task plane instead of spreading it into the racking.
- 30–70W, up to 7000lm
- 24°/36° narrow optics
- 6–12m mounting height
- IP54, IK08
Built for the exposed soffit.
A recessed fixture uses the ceiling void as a heatsink and hides its driver. A surface fixture has neither luxury — so the body has to do the work.
Three questions worth asking early.
Surface lighting is usually specified late, once the ceiling build-up is fixed. Ask these before the ceiling detail is drawn.
Is there a ceiling void?
No void → surface cylinder or drum, not a recessed downlight. Trying to recess into a 60mm slab service zone is how ceilings get cut open after handover. If the void exists, the Downlights line is the better answer.
How high is the mounting plane?
Below 3m → standard cylinder with UGR<19. Between 3 and 6m → higher output and narrower optics. Above 6m → high-ceiling or suspended, where access for maintenance also becomes a design decision.
Is it a circulation or service area?
Car parks, service corridors, plant rooms and back-of-house need IP65 and IK10 — and usually an emergency variant on the same body so the ceiling does not carry two different fixture types.
Send the ceiling build-up detail and we'll tell you what mounts to it.
Get a recommendationNo void, no free heatsink. So the body becomes one.
Surface fixtures fail earlier than recessed ones for a simple reason: all the heat leaves through the visible body. In a 50°C plant room or an unventilated soffit, that changes the thermal design completely.
The base is the heatsink
A recessed downlight dumps heat into the void. A surface cylinder has only its contact patch with the slab and its own surface area. We size the base casting accordingly — which is why a 20W surface cylinder is physically larger than a 20W recessed downlight. That is a thermal requirement, not styling.
Driver placement decides the profile
An integral driver inside the body adds its own heat to the LED chamber. Where the ceiling detail is tight we move the driver remote into the ceiling void or a nearby accessible enclosure, and the body shrinks. Both options are drawn, so the architect can see the consequence before approving the profile.
Mounting height changes the optic
The same 36° beam covers a 2m pool of light at 3m and a 7.6m pool at 12m — but the intensity per square metre drops with the square of the distance. High-ceiling bodies therefore pair higher output with narrower optics, so the beam reaches the task plane instead of washing the racking.
The result: a published thermal rating for the surface condition, a documented remote-driver option for tight soffits, and a beam table by mounting height. Ask for the thermal report with the datasheet.

Where surface lighting solves the ceiling.
Concrete villas, refurbished hospitality and industrial halls are the projects this line was built for.
Luxury Residential
Exposed concrete slabs, double-height voids and villa corridors resolved with surface and suspended bodies.
Hospitality Lighting
Refurbished ceilings where cutting a new void is not an option, and back-of-house bulkheads.
Restaurants & F&B
Surface cylinders over bar counters and suspended drums in dining rooms with exposed services.
Tested on the plane. Every unit.
Surface bodies are tested in the mounting condition they ship in — because the thermal result on a bench is not the result on a soffit.
Photometric Verification
Flux, efficacy, CCT and CRI measured in the integrating sphere following LM-79 methodology.
Surface Thermal Test
Bodies burned in mounted to a representative slab, with junction temperature and lumen maintenance recorded.
Electrical Safety
Hi-pot, grounding and power factor verification on 100% of production, plus emergency variant function testing.
Bulkhead Sealing Check
IP65 bodies jet-tested with the gasket and diffuser fitted, including the cable entry.
